This website was created by Wilfried Philips. It runs on an apache webserver on a linux machine and is written in the php scripting language. Where possible, available public domain software was used to implement certain functions. No Microsoft software was used in the development of this site.
This conference management software is still in active development and
is currently not in the public domain.
However, it has already been used to partly or completely host a number of conferences

External software packages
The development of this site would have been much more difficult without the following great pieces of software (the developer apologizes for any omissions in this list):
Packages used as such
- Apache, the webserver software.
- Php, the PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor with the recursively defined name
- MySQL, the database software.
- PhpLib, used mainly for access control.
- The Smarty template engine.
- phpMyAdmin, used for general database access.
- The XML C parser and toolkit of Gnome, used for processing xml-files.
- Php.XPath, a php class for parsing xml-files into a tree structure and performing xpath-queries on that structure.
- MySQL::Diff, part of the phpguide project, used to verify the structure of the databases.
- phpESP, the php Easy Survey Package.
- AnchorPosition.js and PopupWindow.js from Matt Kruse. The menu javascript is built on top of these scripts.
- xpdf, which contains tools for converting pdf to postscript.
- ghostscript, which contains tools for converting postscript to pdf.
- XEmacs, used for programming.
Packages used in significantly modified form
- Currently none
Packages used in previous versions
- Php class.tree, which displays a tree menu in a separate frame.
- The Php Layers Menu System, which implements menus using javascript manipulation of layers. The original version included the menu code in the containing page. This is a problem because some of the menu code is quite large. The code was heavily modified and is now loaded from a separate file, which can be cached. Unfortunately, the resulting code no longer works on netscape 4 (due to bugs in the browser).
